I love the Olympics. Even though the summer ones are least favorite they're still fun to watch. I especially enjoy watching the gymnastics and swimming. I also like all the odd sports on like handball and shooting. Michael Phelps is just plain amazing. Greatest athlete ever. Boy, I'd like that title! Amazing. And he's only 23!!

I want XP Back

So, I was bored one day and I had Vista sitting in my room. XP was running great but I wanted to try Vista. Well I tried it, it was so slow I couldn't really even work on it. Long story short, I've tried a million ways to get it back and right now I can't. But I hope to in the next week or so. And thats not the worst part!

I have been working on a new version of my CMS for a while now, a couple of weeks. Well to say it short, there all destroyed. Backup #1, on my computer which had to get erased for Vista setup. #2 My backup drive corrupted. #3 I backed up the wrong files to my dads backup. So ya, I've got a little bit of make up work to do!

I have an almost finished CMS I have been working on, which also doubles as Jtmcgee.net's cms. And I have been creating some themes the can use with it and I like on of them a lot, I am probably going to use it on my site to spice it up a little, everybody tells me that my site is too... 2d and ungraphical.

Firefox 3

So far from my short expierance with it, it seems nice. One thing that really let me down though was the RSS. I thought it might look different than Firefox 2, but it's not. I like the new default theme a lot! I like how the back button is really big. I also like how the address bar is smart and helpful. I am a little mad too that I have to fix my administration panel because it doesn't run as smooth with this version as it did with the last. So far right now it's not up to what I hope it would have been. Maybe that will change in the next couple of days though! :D

Pages

I, today have released Pages! Now instead of having to go into Dreamweaver to edit the content most of the pages are now controlled by pages! Of course it is impossible for you to know the difference, the HTML is the same, the url is the same, every thing is almost the same. Instead of text in a page most of the pages are now controlled by the DB's, like the posts, links, and youtubes before them. Why I keep saying most is because for right now certain pages cannot be saying how they have to be able to use PHP. But eventually I will probably do a migration. I have had the whole system done for weeks but until today I could not get the .htaccess to work. Of course I have only worked on it a few times - explaining why it took so long. Well hope you like! Even if you can't tell the difference

Oh, and also if anyone is interested in getting Pages just contact me.

Back and Forth

I think that my administration pannel is the best website I have ever made. I like to keep adding to it and making it better. Sometimes when I am away from the internet, like on road trips, I download it and work on it on the road on my laptop. Well it seems like anymore I am doing more of adding the innovations into the website than acctually making it. For example on a road trip I created something I call pages, with this program and its WYSIWYG editor it can edit any page. I have to update the website with it from my computer. And I just finished up this project I have been working on on the website where I can add, view, delete all my online photos from here. Now I have to download that so I can work on it, on roadtrips. Well now that you have heard me ramble I shall get back to installing Pages.

I'm done here

Well I am not like leaving or anything, but my programming and designing atleast for a little while is done here! Now I can't just let my skills go rusty until 2.5, and I need to start forming a portfolio. I need projects! Right now I am in the process of working with the childrens director at my church to make a nice site for the children's ministry. But what it is probably going to be is just making the Joomla! page that they already have a little cooler. This is not my first web project with my church, I was the technical man for when it switched to Joomla, I would have to fix the problems and do the programming when needed, but for the content and stuff like that Anna and my dad did that. So if you guys need a designer to do things I am open!

New Books!

Well my dad came home today from work and said somebody sent him some
books at his job and he didn't have any use for them, and guess what
type of books they were! They were Web Design and Development books.
Why are all programming books so expensive? These two books together
cost $95! These books look pretty awesome, I am not sure that I am
ready for the JavaServer pages one yet, but I'll definitley be reading
that Adapting to Web Standards Book soon! I've never really done
anything with Web Standards before, I have been to busy learning the
art and tricks of Web Development. Now I will be able to learn about
these "Standards" of the Web. The Web Standards book says its about CSS
and Ajax mostly. I use CSS all the time but yet I have never used Ajax.
I have seen many things using it and I am excited to try out the power
of the popular Ajax. Why does it always seem that design books are so
much smaller than programming books? I mean well probably because
programming there is so much, but design its a little bit of stuff, and
you just be extremely creative with it to create new things. Overall I
look forward to reading both of these books in the near future.

New Administration Panel

Well, it's not completley done, but its got most of it done. I did a total redesign back here. Well the last thing we had was about 10 minutes of CSS thrown together and it was ugly. This is a much nicer CMS. I'll post pictures tommorow. But tonight I am too tired. Everything is not totally accomplished, like I want a WYSIWYG editor back here, and I need to finish with the media /image upload section. The login section is pretty sweet too.
